ExoReLR: Modeling and retrieving exoplanet reflected-light and thermal-emission spectra
ExoReLR models exoplanet reflected-light and thermal-emission spectra using physics-based forward calculations and Bayesian retrieval for planets ranging from cold giants to sub-Neptunes and terrestrial worlds. It couples radiative transfer with physically motivated treatments of gases, clouds, and surfaces, maintaining internal consistency between condensable species, cloud formation, and vertical atmospheric structure. The code supports parameterized cloud models (including multi-layer configurations), composition-agnostic atmospheric inference, and joint atmosphere–cloud–surface retrievals for rocky planets, including surface pressure and albedo. In retrieval mode, ExoReLR separates the effects of gaseous absorption, clouds, surface reflectance, and thermal structure and returns posterior distributions that capture key degeneracies and uncertainties in atmospheric composition, cloud properties, surface conditions, and habitability-relevant signatures across UV to infrared wavelengths.
